Make weekly contact, scheduled and approved by clients, in person or by phone to provide social interaction and informally check their well-being.  Notify Senior Services Coordinator if you have some reason for concern about your client.  Report monthly status to Senior Services Coordinator via volunteer report form.  Attend annual meeting for purposes of ongoing education and information sharing. 

Driver-escorts play an important role for the frail older person who needs to make use of community services or opportunities, but can no longer do so totally independently.  This volunteer provides transportation and escorts clients to desired location(s) and remains with client OR serves as an escort in the event that the client has other means of transportation.  Driver-escorts also takes clues from the seniors as to how much and what kind of assistance he/she needs - e.g help selecting or carrying grocery items, filling out forms, etc.
