Catholic Roundtable for Peace and Justice
Background
The Catholic Roundtable for Peace and Justice was established in September, 2007 as the next generation of the former Peace and Justice Commission. It grew out of discussions of concerned Catholics for a local voice on issues that we all face as conscious Catholics and citizens of the world.
Details
The Roundtable meets quarterly. There is a core group of six individuals and it is staffed by the PSM Department of Catholic Charities. Sr. Mary Schmuck is the lead person with Mark Bouchard and David Dutschke assisting.
All are welcome! Attendance is open and there is no formal membership requirement. Our agendas are formed by those attending. We only ask for you to please let us know if you plan to attend as we serve a light supper and need a count for meals. The remaining meetings for 2008 are scheduled for September 15th and December 1st (Monday evenings) at the St. Agnes Undercroft from 5:00—7:30 pm. For more information call 502-637-9786 or email Sr. Mary Schmuck, RSM.
Statement Papers
The Roundtable produces statement papers on the issues raised by the participants. What do we do with these statement papers? They are distributed to the parishes and agencies of the Archdiocese. We present them as occasions for conversation. How you use them is only limited by your imagination and interest - from bulletin inserts to reflective reading for committees in the parish.
