Parish Social Ministry
Parish Social Ministry is a parish's response to the Gospel call of living justly. We attempt to accomplish this by empowering the parish as the People of God to fulfill the Church's mission of love, justice, freedom, and peace by communally responding in an organized way to societal and individual needs.
At Catholic Charities, the Parish Social Ministry Department is designed to assist the social outreach of a parish or its service committee - often called social concerns, social ministry, or peace and justice committee. On the national level, we work with Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Campaign for Human Development, and Catholic Charities USA. On the state level, we work closely with Catholic Conference of Kentucky (CCK), the Catholic Bishops of Kentucky's legislative arm.
